Three months without money fights: Marina’s story

Before: the spreadsheet nobody opened

“The spreadsheet was my doing. Three tabs, formulas, pretty conditional formatting. My husband lasted four days. Not because he does not care: in a life where you pay at the checkout with a child on your hip, the idea of ‘I will open the laptop later and log it’ does not work. Ever.

Then it got worse. With no records, each of us remembered our own version. I remembered paying for daycare and groceries. He remembered paying for the car and utilities.
